GENERAL:

ADF basket filter, is a filter used to remove solid particles from liquids. It consists of a cylindrical stainless-steel housing with a built-in filter basket which captures contaminants.

The basket filter is typically used for chemical solution quality control and to protect downstream equipment such as pumps, valves, and meters by filtering out unwanted impurities from the liquid flow. The ADF filter is suitable for various applications, including latex, PVA, starch solutions, additives, wet end chemicals, and process water cleaning.

ADF filter meets the current engineering standards, complies with the EN machinery directive, and is CE labelled.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE:

ADF-filter is operated as inside-out principle. The solution is fed into the screen through the upper inlet. Liquid and particles smaller than the slot size, flow through the screen and are led out from the outlet connection. Particles not able to pass the screen remain inside the screen basket. These solids are then intermittently removed from the screen drum manually, by taking out the screen basket and washing it.

The screen basket material is typically stainless steel, but in case requested also nylon filter bag can be used.

Depending on the requirements and chemical quality slot sizes of the filter are set between 50 – 800 µm.

ADF BASKET FILTER CONSTRUCTION:

The ADF basket filter is manufactured using only high-quality materials. All wetted parts are made of stainless steel (EN 1.4404). The steel screen basket is sealed to the filter body with an O-ring. The screen cover is hinged to the vessel and secured with quick-fastening eye bolts, allowing for easy opening without any special tools.

The standard design has a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar. However, if higher pressure demands exist, the ADF filter can be designed to accommodate higher pressures as well.

ADF-BASKET FILTER CAPACITY:

Adpap Ltd. offers standard filter sizes for various capacities, ranging from just a few liters per minute up to 1000 liters per minute (lpm) per filter unit. The capacity depends on the type of liquid and the selected slot size.

The standard filter drum slit/perforation sizes range from 50 µm to 800 µm. The appropriate filter type and filtration slit size are always optimized based on customer needs.

Additionally, ADF filters can be supplied as ready-made double filter units, which include all necessary connections and operating valves.
